Betting Tips for Chelsea vs Man City, Arsenal vs Brighton and Newcastle vs Liverpool
The international break is just around the corner, but there’s another round of Premier League matches to come first. This weekend’s live matches include a huge title battle, a tough trip for newcomers Brighton and Rafa Benitez’s reunion with Liverpool. With some excellent games to enjoy, we’ve picked out a few betting tips on this weekend’s action.
Chelsea vs Manchester City – Blues could struggle against rampant City
Manchester City are in brilliant form this season, and their great run should worry Chelsea. We can see the Citizens bursting in to a great start here, followed by some Chelsea pressure. The Blues might not be able to deal with City’s movement early on, given it’s nothing like what they’ve faced recently.
However, Antonio Conte’s men have a strong record at the Bridge, and they’re in great form going forward this term. We think there’s some excellent value to be found here by backing City to be ahead at half-time, followed by a draw at full-time. These massive clashes tend to end without a clear winner, so it makes sense to back a stalemate in the end.
Betting Tip: Man City/Draw at 15/1 with Betfair
Arsenal vs Brighton – Arsenal to cruise past newcomers
The Gunners have Europa League commitments in midweek, but that’s not likely to get their full attention. They return to Premier league action with a straightforward clash with Brighton on Sunday, and that should see the hosts easily take the points. Brighton don’t quite look up to this level, and they certainly don’t look capable of troubling a top team.
They put in a timid display against Man City in their opening game, and we see the Seagulls falling to a 2-0 defeat when they take on Arsenal this weekend. Our main tip on this clash is a 2-0 correct score, which is great value at 11/2 with Betfair.
Betting Tip: Arsenal to win 2-0 at 11/2 with Betfair
Newcastle vs Liverpool – Liverpool to blow away former boss
Liverpool are up against former boss Rafa Benitez this weekend, and the Spaniard is going to find a very different team to the one he left in 2011. The Reds are now built around flying pace, and that’s going to unsettle this Newcastle defence. The Magpies have claimed wins against the sides around them, but they’ve shown no signs of competing with the elite clubs.
Having lost at Brighton last weekend, we see Newcastle being vulnerable to another defeat this weekend. St James’ Park wasn’t that difficult a trip for Tottenham on the opening day, and we’re expecting Liverpool to win here.
They should be able to breeze past the Magpies, in part thanks to their electric pace up front. Mo Salah has been brilliant since joining the club, scoring six goals for the Reds. We can see him getting a goal at St James’ Park, and he’s excellently priced at 11/2 with BetVictor to hit the opener this weekend.
